Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, the talented actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers won seven awards throughout the show.
Other standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only four awards—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by experts.
