Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
